[REVIEW] Luscious Super Moisturizing lipstick in Daisy Pink

Sunday, December 30, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 14 Comments

Lipsticks have been my vice lately. Particularly hydrating lipsticks and since the weather has gotten drier I've been wearing a lot of lip balm so I figured lets give the popular Luscious Super Moisturizing lipstick a try.

Luscious Super Moisturizing lipstick in Daisy Pink Lip Swatch

Let's Talk About It:
I bought the shade Daisy Pink because I was looking for a very wearable rosy pink shade. The color is almost Your Lips But Better but it's slightly on the pale side for my pigmented lips. Never the less the color is super pretty for daily wear and of course it hydrates very nicely on the lips. The packaging of Luscious's products are always spot on, the lipstick comes in an sturdy silver packaging that's easy to travel with and its just a little bit smaller then their Signature lipstick.

The formula is very creamy and feels like a lip balm if not more emollient  As much as I prefer the feeling of a lightweight smooth lipstick, this didn't work that well for me. The lipstick feathers out from my lips if I apply more than a couple of layers. The lipstick just slips off which bothers me after I eat or drink because it feels like the lipstick is all over the place. It doesn't cling to my lips as a lipstick should. The wear time is about an hour for me, 2 hours max. If I eat or drink it'll practically disappear. I'm not sure how the darker shades wear compared to this lighter color. Whenever I do wear it I apply a thin layer just to hydrate my lips and it does a fairly good job of keeping them moist.

[REVIEW] Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me

Saturday, December 29, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 10 Comments

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me
With the winds getting colder and drier, my lips have been staying away from matte lipsticks and I gotta say Revlon know their stuff when it comes to hydrating lipsticks! Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me was on my wishlist since its the perfect muted shade of peach and well its Revlon!

- Exclusive LiquiSilk™ formula with mega-moisturizers seals in color and softness

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me

I love Revlon's packaging, the casing is very sturdy and comes with a see through glass top.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me Swatch
Let's Talk about it:
Peach me is a muted neutral peach with gold specks of shimmer, its more of a pearl finish instead of a frost. I really like how the shimmer gives more of a glossy effect instead of being all out disco ball on my lips. The shimmer is very smooth and doesn't feel gritty at all. It has an overall pearly effect which is very suitable for a daytime lip look. It’s very subtle and it works very well with my skintone, if you want to try out a peach lipstick this would be the one to start with.

So is it hydrating? Well sort of, the Super Lustrous  formula is not the same as their Lip Butters but it is somewhat comfortable to wear if your lips are dry but its not too much that the lipstick slips off your lip. If you found the lip butters to be very glossy than this range might suit you.

The application is smooth and takes two or three layers to build up color. If you  have pigmented lips I wouldn't suggest this shade. This wears a very average 2 hours just like the Lip Butter in Tutti Fruitti with a lip liner it will last longer. The lipstick has no scent or taste at all, which is a plus for me.

Overall I love this shade, it’s my go to lipstick for daytime but not at all long wearing! I definitely want to try out more shades from this range.

Likes:
-Wide variety of shades
-Comfortable to wear
-Sturdy packaging
-Semi hydrating

-Not Long wearing

Proactiv,

[REVIEW] Proactiv Solution

Saturday, December 01, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 6 Comments

Proactiv has been around for years with huge celebrity followers from Jessica Simpson to Katy Perry. I remember first using the 3 step system when I was dealing with acne breakouts in my late teens. Back then a lot teenagers in the states were using this treatment to help cure their acne so I tried it and it didn't give me astonishing results. Now that Proactiv is available in Pakistan I gave it another try.

What Proactiv Say:
  • Step 1: Renew
This medicated Renewing Cleanser is made with new, exclusive micro-crystal benzoyl peroxide — featuring smaller, finer particles designed to quickly penetrate pores to start killing acne-causing bacteria on contact. Tiny exfoliating beads gently remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells to help keep pores from clogging.
  • Step 2: Revitalize
This refreshing, alcohol-free toner helps remove impurities and excess oil so your skin looks and feels clean, soft and refreshed -- not tight and dried out. Soothing botanical agents gently balance your skin tone.
  • Step 3: Repair
The repairing treatment is a feather-light medicated lotion that gets deep into clogged pores faster but is designed to be gentler on the skin. It's an oil-free formula that's safe for your entire face.
  • Refining Mask
The rich, deep cleansing mask uses sulfur, a proven acne-fighting ingredient that reaches deep into the pores where blemishes begin. It gently unplugs pores, heals existing blemishes, pampers inflamed skin and softens and refines the skin texture.

What I think:
Using these products brought back a lot of memories of dealing with acne. So now in my mid 20s these gave me different results. My skin is less sensitive to acne breakouts now but it's almost always caused by the environment. It's either pollution, oil build up or stress. Since the weather is more dry now, my skin is less prone to heavy oil build up caused by sweat.

I've been using the 3 step system daily and after the first use I've noticed my skin feels smoother and less oil build up throughout the day. The Renewing Cleanser is a gentle exfoliating cleanser that has a water consistency. The tiny scrubbing particles is perfect for scrubbing off any dead skin cells. It includes micro-crystal benzoyl peroxide which gives the cleanser a very strong medicine scent.

The Second step is the Revitalizing Toner which works great to removing any residue that was left behind from the cleanser. This is my favorite product to use since toner's are ideal for oil prone skin to reduce any oil throughout the day. The Repairing Lotion was my least favorite since it didn't have any SPF especially for being a day lotion. It's also a thin consistency and I mainly focus on applying this on my nose, chin and forehead. It didn't leave my skin feeling oily however it does hydrate.

The Refining Mask is perfect for those pesky pimples that pop up out of nowhere. I used this as a spot treatment on a breakout on my chin and left it on for about 10 mins after it dried. The mask tingles when applied and dries after 10 mins. I used this around my nose to see how it would work with my pores and it didn't really do anything to shrink them. For the breakout is did lessen the appearance of it. I used this all over my face and it was very difficult to wash off and it still left this white cast on my face.

Overall the treatment would work best for those who are dealing with acne, having this skin care regimen would greatly reduce acne. For me it worked moderately since I don't have as much acne breakout. Though the treatment is pricey, it's suitable for those who are looking for an alternative to a medicated acne solution.

OPI Fall Fabulous Duo Swatches

Friday, November 30, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 12 Comments

I love the Fall Season! Dark shades of reds and oxblood are everywhere and the OPI Fall Fabulous Duo is the perfect pair of polishes to keep you warm this season. The full size duos come with 2 polishes;  I'm Not Really a Waitress and William Tell Me About OPI. Along with the polishes you get an adorable little purple cosmetic bag.

I'm Not Really A Waitress Swatch
I'm Not Really A Waitress is described as A vivacious chianti red. This shade is a gorgeous bright cherry red with tiny shimmers. This one was opaque in just a single coat, for the swatch I layered 2 coats.

William Tell Me About OPI Swatch
William Tell Me About OPI is described as A crisp burgundy that's your overture to great style. It's the ideal fall shade since the shade is a pure cream finish burgundy shade with a brown undertone. This was opaque in 2 coats but you can get away with wearing a single layer of polish.

This duo is perfect for any red polish fanatic, these apply gorgeously without a top coat. Since red shades do tend to stain nails I recommend a good base coat with these polishes to prevent your nails from turning yellow.

You can find OPI polishes on their Facebook Page here. To purchase you can visit Just4Girls.pk

[REVIEW] RevitaBrow Eyebrow Conditioner

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 5 Comments

Tired of filling in your brows everyday? The Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner promises to revitalize your eyebrows so they will look thicker, fuller, and more polished. So let's see how it worked for mine!

Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner uses the power of botanicals and peptides, to help nourish, strengthen, and condition your brows. Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner also claims to use advanced cosmetic technology to help your eyebrows grow into that more beautiful and stunning look.

Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner Key Ingredients:
Serenoa Serrulala Feuit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Swertia Japonica Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, and Biotin.

How to Use:
Simple and easy is the application process for Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner. All you do is apply Revitabrow Eyebrow Conditioner once a day to clean and dray eyebrow hair.
My eyebrows are not perfect and I get reminded of that with every visit at a beauty salon when I get them threaded. I have a bunch of gaps between each hair which makes the threading process very difficult since they end up looking thinner then what I expected. Natural looking brows are very in these days so I try to grow them out as much as I can but of course I can't go more then 2-3 weeks without getting them done since they get out of control.

The product is a clear liquid which dries in about 5-10 minutes, I like the wand applicator that it comes with. I can easily massage in the product in certain areas. It doesn't make them hard or greasy feeling. I've been applying this once a day for about 2 and a half months, and I'm not gonna lie but I did forgot to apply this a few times during the course! With continuous usage my results would have been better. I've never tried an eyebrow growth serum but this worked a lot better then applying Castor Oil which a lot of beauty gurus recommend for eyebrow hair growth. Don't get me started at how annoying it is to apply oil to my brows! This is a better alternative but I would hesitate on purchasing this simply because of the price tag.

With the RevitaBrow Eyebrow Conditioner I wouldn't call this a miracle product to be honest. I have noticed a slight thickness in my brows since after about a month of using it, which I can only spot in photos. The area where i focused the most product is at the arch of my brow where there's a bunch of gaps. After 2 months I have been seeing some thickness around the arch but not so much that it's noticeable to others. I would say that the hair does feel softer and I notice less hair sticking out from place to place. I'd recommend this to someone with very thin brows, with continuous usage this can help the growth of the hairs.

Hair Products,

Current Fav: Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo

Thursday, October 25, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 8 Comments

Lately I've been getting tons of compliments on my hair. Its more wavy and full of body now and its all thanks to Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo. I’ve never tried this particular one before and while shopping for a new shampoo I was considering getting the hydrating one that I’ve read so much about since my ends are on the drier side but I got this instead because I love full bodied hair. This is probably my third Herbal Essences shampoo, I’ve tried their straightening one and their split end one and they have never ceased to disappoint me! They all smell amazing yet it’s not a strong scent.

Herbal Essences Body Envy
With effective cleansing and lightweight conditioning for hair volume
Fed up with flat hair? use us for a lift in all the right places with our formula that has a fusion of passionflower sunrise and pearl. For lush hair volume and body that really moves, try our shampoo and try our conditioner that has a fusion of hydro-activated silkening ingredients, and styling products. caution: that lightweight feeling is guaranteed to cause a rush that others will envy.

My hair type is wavy and I do end up with oil on my scalp even after a day of shampooing. What I like about Herbal Essences is that their shampoos lather up a lot! I love a shampoo where I need just a small amount to massage into my scalp and ends. The scent of body envy is a bit fruity and flower but its not at all strong or overpowering. They describe the scent as a fusion of passionflower sunrise and pearl.

So does it volumize? Heck yea it does! My scalp definitely needs a boost, I was using the Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo (reviewed here) on my fringe to give a lift and now I don’t  use it anymore because of this. My hair has more body and waves now, I avoid combing my hair right after the shower to hold some of the waves in.

This shampoo doesn't dry out my hair so I don’t feel the need to use a thick conditioner with this. Since my ends are dry I add a tiny amount of Sunsilk’s Soft and Smooth conditioner on just the ends, it hydrates and detangles my hair very well.

I'm in love with this shampoo, if you are looking for a hairlift than this shampoo is worth checking out.

September Favs!

Monday, October 01, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 14 Comments

I hate being away from my blog for so long! So how about a few things that I have been loving for the past month? I can't believe its almost October and in just a few months 2012 will be over! Crazyness.
Let's start off with my favorite face products.

  • Color Studio Pro Blush in Natural Glow (reviewed here) - Amazing to wear during the daytime, highly recommend it for a soft blush look
  • Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop (reviewed here) - I like how subtle yet bright this lip color is. I only need to dab on a little for a great pop of color.
  • Elf Super Glossy in Mauze Luxe (reviewed here) - If I skip out on wearing any lip color, I wear this for a bit of shine on the lips.
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Pink Perfection- I love how light this lip gloss is, I usually pair this with the Revlon Lip Butter for a glossy look since it's not that pigmented
  • Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black Fever- Love this eyeliner, I will be purchasing another one since I am almost running out. This works really well for the waterline and it doesn't smudge or bleed!
  • Essence Kohl Eyeliner in 11 Cool Breeze- Gorgeous bright blue kohl eyeliner, I love using this on my lower lash line but it does smudge a bit!
  • Essence Brow Pencil in 02 Brown- Simple basic brow pencil, the brush is really soft and easily blends in the color.
Though I rarely wear eye makeup, lately whenever I go out I always pair these 2 up. The Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold (reviewed here) and Essence's eyeshadow in Party All Night. It creates the most metallic look, the eyeshadow on its own doesn't show up that well on me but with the gold base it works really nicely.

For nails I have been loving this coral color from Loreal in Rajin' Cajun. Using Revlon Color Stay's Base Coat and Top Coat keeps this polish on for an entire week!

For hair I have been loving this serum from CHI, I only use the tiniest amount on the ends of my hair and it feels super soft and smooth. My hair usually gets greasy with serums but this does the trick really well. I discovered this cheap Cocoa Body Butter at Naheed's for 200rs, I figured why not since the smell is really rich. It doesn't work that well on my body but I love using it for my hands, my cuticles have really been nourished with this.

Well I hope you all liked my favorites for this month! Let me know if you would like any reviews of the products mentioned! What are some things that you have been loving lately?

Haul,

Rings and Things-- Jewelry Haul!

Wednesday, September 19, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 16 Comments

After seeing plenty of Facebook Pages selling adorable fashion jewelry from AliExpress.com, I had to get in on some of it! I ordered a variety of artificial rings, earrings and bracelets from Yun520 on July 16 and I received them this past Saturday..yes it took more than 2 months for me to get my things but it was worth the wait considering I got all of these (and more that my mom ordered) for $30. Each item was about $1-2 if not less. So here is what I got!

Charm Bracelet
Bow Ring - Adjustable
Two Finger Bow Knot Ring -  Size 6
Camera Ring - Adjustable
Earrings
Bracelets

Belt Buckle Ring -  Size 6
Peacock Ring - Adjustable
Belt Buckle Ring -  Size 6
Bronze Camera Ring- Adjustable
Peacock Ring- Size 6

Flower Ring - Adjustable
Bracelets
Overall I had a fun time shopping online, after that it was just stress-ville not known when my order would arrive. The store has a huge variety of items so you'll find loads of cute stuff. The quality however is OKAY, some of the bronze rings look very rusty so I might take a toothbrush and give them a scrub.

With these sort of artificial rings and earrings I always have to apply a clear coat of nail polish to keep them from turning copper and also to avoid my fingers from turning green. These sort of earrings also make my ears itch so the nail polish will also help to protect them. I did do a blog post about this that you can find a how to on here

The metal bracelets are a huge size, if you have thin wrists I don't recommend getting these. All of the rings fit on my ring finger, which is a size 6. These are similar to the stuff you can buy here, the quality isn't spectacular but you can save some money by shopping in bulk.

I only recommend shopping online at this store if you don't need  them in a rush.
What's your favorite pick from my haul?

Lips,

[REVIEW] Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters- Tutti Frutti, Lollipop, Raspberry Pie, Red Velvet

Monday, August 27, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 23 Comments

It's Lip Butter time ladies!! These gorgeous Revlon lip treats have been the talk of the beauty world for months now and I recently got my pretty little hands on these beauties.
What Revlon Say:
- Buttery Balm + Shiny Color

- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%

Tutti Frutti, Lollipop, Raspberry Pie, Red Velvet
 Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters Swatches
*sorry for the lack of lipstick photos, I accidentally deleted them off my hard drive. :'(

Let's Sum it up:
Before I even tried these babies on, I had high expectations which was inevitable because almost every YouTube Guru and Beauty Blogger has been raving about these lip products non-stop. So what makes these stand out from other lipsticks? For starters they apply very smoothly with an opaque color. If you are like me and no matter how often you scrub your lips and apply lip balm, your lipstick still makes your lips feel rough. With these lip butters, they glide on effortlessly and even helps to make your lips feel smoother

Personally I picked out these particular colors because of my lips, they already have a good amount of pigmentation and lighter more neutral colors does end up looking very sheer on my lips so I am more than thrilled that all of these showed up opaque on my lips.

Tutti Frutti is a gorgeous coral orange, it's the sheerest of the bunch on my lips. This is the only one that I have to layer on 2 or 3 times to get a good pigmentation. This is also the least wearing out of the 4, it lasted about 2 hours on me.

Lollipop is my favorite out of all of these. It's a pretty fuchsia pink that has glitter specks, the particles don't show up that noticeably on the lips. The pigmentation is really opaque and lasts more than 3 hours on me. This one does leave my lips stained after 3 hours.

Raspberry Pie is a darker rosey-pink, it's opaque in just one swipe. This one also lasted more than 3 hours on me and left a stain on my lips.

Red Velvet is a dark warm red. My mom's favorite and it looked stunning on her with her Eid dress. This one lasted about 2 hours and didn't leave any noticeable stain on the lips.
All of these have a smooth, glossy finish which is a plus since you don't need to layer a lip gloss for added shine.

Likes:
- Smoothes out dry/rough lips
- Hydrating
- Pigmented
- Wide variety of shades
- Glossy Finish
- Packaging

Dislikes:
- Tutti Frutti has less pigmentation
