Company Spotlight: E.L.F Cosmetics

Thursday, August 25, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 10 Comments

I’m the kinda person that doesn’t really look at high-end brands because my pockets just can’t hold the weight. This is where E.L.F comes in, also known as Eyes Lips Face. E.L.F states that  "every woman should have the opportunity to participate in innovation, without sacrificing her budget,"

History on the company:

The brand is based from New York City and now has branched out worldwide to the UK, Australia, and now Pakistan. The company was started in 2004 by Joseph Shamah and Scott Vincent Borba. Shamah and Borba met in 2002 while Shamah was a New York University business student and Borba was a Los Angeles based beauty-industry veteran who launched companies such as Hard Candy cosmetics. The mission to launch ELF was to bring inexpensive and high-quality cosmetics line for women and teens.

PETA supporters:
The company states that all of its products are 100% cruelty-free. Their support for PETA's Fur Free campaign extends to its use of brush bristles which are 100% synthetic. Many other products are cruelty free such as mascaras, lip glosses, blushes, and more. In 2007, it was announced that e.l.f. was selling tweezers in a faux leather case that states Supports PETA in the Fur Free Campaign which 50% of the proceeds from sales of these tweezers go straight to PETA. Affordability with a cause, always nice to support such campaigns without breaking a budget.

Christine,

[NAILS] Pink Glitter Galore with Silver Polish

Friday, August 19, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 9 Comments

Hello my lovelies!

Its been a few days since I last blogged, but you know how life gets sometimes? Nevertheless today I wanted to do some polish experimenting! I've owned one glitter polish from Sally Hansen and it was the most stubborn polish to remove. You can read the review here. I am not TOO fond of glitter polish's  but I wanted to try this method out and see how it would work out.

So the product I used for the glitter was this art store glitter from Danny, it is not chunky or fine. It worked really well on top of a silver polish by Christine. I am not sure how much this glitter cost, I have had for a few years. The Christine polish was about 35Rs.

I basically applied the silver polish and then tapped on the glitter on top with my finger, since the polish was close to drying it didn't smudge the polish. What i will end up doing is getting some clear top coat's and adding the glitter into it. It will be less messy because glitter gets EVERYWHERE!

So I hope you liked this post, what do you think of how the polish turned out? Any suggestions?

The Beauty Product Junkie Challenge for Ramazan!

Monday, August 01, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 4 Comments

For Muslims, the holy month of Ramazan has arrived. Its the month of patience, prayer and purity. Its the time of the month to GIVE to the less fortunate.

I recently read a beautifully written post by Lale beauty, please take a look here.

As a beauty lover I wanted to accept Lale's challenge and abstain from purchasing make up or other beauty related items this holy month. The money that we use to purchase make up we can GIVE to the less fortunate.

For me personally, living in a poverty stricken country its truly heartbreaking to hear that the poor will not spend their Ramazan with many eatables. We should give back instead of purchasing more this month.

I hope you all would consider this quest to help others in need.

Thank you!

and btw I will be blogging this month no worries :)

[eyes] Spring in Greens!

Monday, August 01, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 8 Comments

Hello my pretties!

Sorry its been DAYS since i posted here, but you know how it goes.
So for today I wanted to do another spring inspired look before summer is over...

I simply LOVE the color combination of green and pink. When both of the colors meet it makes a purplish tone, so to enhance that I added some purple to the crease.

The following products were used:
·         Liner: Etude Liquid liner in Black, Revlon Colorstay Retractile Liner in Black
·         Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash in Black
·         Shadows: Matte spring green, bright purple in the crease and a light pink above the crease.

Thank you all once again for checking out this post! feel free to leave some comments!
