[Lip Swatches & Review] Vintage Vineyard Collection – Ofra Cosmetics

Thursday, April 27, 2017 Sidrah Beauty 1 Comments

A lipstick collection that screams Fall? Even though it's Summer, this OFRA Liquid Lipstick Collection gives you all the warm vibes that I love year around. Since individual Liquid Lipstick cost around $19 from OFRA, I wanted to give the Vintage Vineyard Collection a try since I got it during a 50% Off sitewide sale which was a steal for around $25 for this set. All of these colors are absolutely beautiful for our desi skin tone.

Ofra’s Vintage Vineyard Lip Set is a set of three full matte lip colors that are gorgeous and highly pigmented plum shades. These formulas are long-lasting, moisturizing and look amazing!
Named after famous wine capitals around the world, these gorgeous shades consist of rosé, cabernet and plum hues perfect for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. Bordeaux, Tuscany, Cape Town and Napa Valley will give you beautiful wine-stained lips that will last throughout all of your holiday festivities.

Swatches:

When this collection was launched, I was hooked on Tuscany and Cape Town. Both beautiful shades. Bordeaux on the other hand is something I could use to mix in with other shades to deepen it.
Tuscany- A muted brown shade with a pinky undertone.
Cape Town- A warm cranberry shade
Bordeaux- An almost black shade with a plum undertone.

Let's Talk About It:

The packaging for these liquid lipsticks comes with a doe foot applicator which easily applies the product evenly. These are super pigmented! Each shade works amazingly with an even coat, no patchiness at all. When it comes to the longevity, this is where I feel my Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks have spoiled me. These are not as drying and have a mousse-like texture which ends up fading after an hour or so. If you are planning to eat, these lipsticks will be completely gone from your lips.

Overall if you love a comfortable liquid lipsticks these are for you, just not for the extremely long-wear!

The OFRA Cosmetics Vintage Vineyard Collection is available on ofracosmetics.com for $47.90.

L’Oréal Professionnel finale of IT LOOKS 2017

Wednesday, April 26, 2017 Sidrah Beauty 0 Comments

L’Oréal Professionnel, the Parisian house of hairdressing, hosted the grand finale of global IT LOOKS for 2017 in Karachi on 24th April 2017 in collaboration with International Technical Consultant Tarek Rizk. The tailor made hair colors for the Spring Summer shows were Copper Foilyage and Nude Beige. Last year’s incredibly popular IT Girl and recently announced Local Spokeperson for L’Oréal Professionnel Hareem Farooq walked the show sporting the Copper Foilyage along with model Rehmat Ajmal who was seen sporting the Nude Biege as the second IT Girl.

Featuring the hair looks for Spring/Summer, the idea was to inspire salons to learn the high fashion, edgy and inspirational IT LOOKS for 2017. The event was held in Marriott, Karachi.

The event was opened by Emaan Ahmad Brand Manager L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Color and Tanzila Hashwani, Education Manager at L’Oreal Professionnel where they talked about the latest trends that came together to create IT LOOKS 2017. They spoke about how hair color is the new make-up and how the latest hair coloration trends are now inspired by make-up techniques like contouring, strobing amongst others. Tanzila then went to reveal the IT LOOKS 2017 with official images of Hareem Farooq in Copper Foilyage and Rehmat Ajmal in Nude Beige followed by a short beauty film introducing IT LOOKS 2017.

Tarek Rizk took the stage after and went on to discuss international trends and started a live demonstration by showing before images of models and then inviting them on stage to reveal their after looks followed by live styling and cutting before sending each model forward to walk down the ramp. The models with the same color family walked in pairs to demonstrate variations. The hair maestro styled 9 looks live on stage before inviting the IT GIRLS to the stage and styling their final looks before taking a grand final walk down the ramp with each IT GIRL on either side. Both IT GIRLS were dressed in Mango Pakistan which was the official wardrobe partner for the campaign.

The Copper Foilyage was created taking into account the fact that copper is the color of the season as spotted on the runways for Alexander Wang, Noon by Noor and Leanne Marshall. The colorists worked with a palette of red, gold and copper shades to sublime facial features and complexion. The Nude Beige has been inspired from the no make-up look trend that has taken the international fashion scene by storm as seen on ramp for designers like Dior, Chanel and Elie Saab who sent out their models in nude make up looks for a chic and natural effect.

The event was attended by multiple partnering salons like Meher Najeeb Salon, Toni & Guy South, Aliya Tipu and Annie’s Alle’nora amongst others. The event was also attended by social media bloggers from Karachi along with print journalists and broadcast channels.

L’Oreal Professionnel is committed to the salon fraternity by bringing such innovative concepts to further push the boundaries of the beauty industry in Pakistan.

L’Oréal Professionnel’s IT LOOKS for 2017 can be achieved at selected L’Oréal Professionnel partner hair salons across the country from 25th April and onwards. For further information about the IT LOOKS and partner Salons, log on to: www.facebook.com/LOrealProfessionnelPakistan

#Sparkistan Celebrating Pakistan's Unsung Heros

Sunday, April 16, 2017 Sidrah Beauty 0 Comments

When a company takes the initiative to create powerful and moving campaign to spotlight some of our country's most talented and hard-working individuals, it just goes to show how much we can do with our time to make the most valuable and life changing efforts. This is exactly what Atlas Battery's Sparkistan campaign has done.
Atlas battery took the initiative to spotlight the story of 15 unsung heroes. These individuals shared their story and their struggle to achieve a goal to better Pakistan as a nation. Each hero had a unique and positively uplifting story to share.
Syed Fahad Ali from Karachi took education into his own hands and built the Aghaz School. The school offers free education to every child who simply can not afford it. He made the best of circumstances and brought education to children along with school supplies. While growing up, Fahad had to endure the struggles of studying in a government school and vowed to take matters into his own hands when he gets older. He did just that.

Zymal Umer is Pakistan’s Youngest Social Entrepreneur. At 9 years old she founded the social project dubbed Zee Bags. Seeing trash, pollution and waste all around her city of Sargodha, she created reusable bags using old recycled newspapers and sells for a mere 70PKR. With the funds she donates and helps underprivileged orphan children. She sparks creativity while helping thoes in need.

Master Ayub from Islamabad is an educator, philanthropist and civil servant. After a full day of work and on the weekends his spends quality time teaching underprivileged students. As of now he educates over 200 students who are enrolled in his school. What started with just 4 children in Islamabad grew exponentially. He is an inspiration to everyone who can spark change in children's lives.
Champa is a courageous woman who knew that there was a harmful to burn ash while cooking food. In villages, using an open flame emits harmful smoke that causes illnesses. When she was residing in Mirpur Khas, she was trained to create earthenware eco friendly stoves. As she moved back to her village, she handmade 20,000 stoves for fellow villagers to protect them from harmful smoke. These stoves have made it safer to cook and can withstand any flood. She teaches women how to create these stoves using bricks, clay and sawdust. She brings a spark to help others and bring change to her community.

Luxurious Pampering at Mona J Spa & Salon!

Tuesday, April 04, 2017 Sidrah Beauty 2 Comments

I don't know about you guys but I hardly ever take time out from my busy schedule for a little pampering. After visiting Mona J Spa & Salon and meeting with her during the Atiqa Odho Cosmetics event, we were given a voucher to avail a free service. Since the 30th was my birthday I decided to take the day off and spend it at Mona J for a Facial Cleansing and a Pedicure.

As soon as I entered for my appointment, the lovely and gracious Mona J was there to greet. I love that she's very involved with her salon and remembered that I was at the Atiqa Odho event. The ambiance of the entire spa was very warm and relaxing. I love that even though there were a few photo shoots going on, the demeanor of the salon was calm and not at all hectic. Pedicure

Situated in a small yet cozy room, the pedicure was done with a few essential products. From filing to scrubbing to a mask and a warm foot bath. My feet felt renewed after my toes were painted with Essie's Wife Goes On. The mood lighting of the room is my favorite and also the light music because who doesn't love to feel completely relaxed during a pedicure? Mona J Spa & Salon Review Karachi Blog

Facial Cleansing
With the same ambiance at the pedicure room, the dim lighting and the airy music was very rejuvenating. The room was kept at a cool temperature. The facial started with a basic cleansing, scrub, mask and blackhead extraction (the toughest part). Every product that was used felt very luxurious on the skin, the scrub smelled like fresh mangos! and the mask has a fresh minty feeling on the skin. My skin felt and looked absolutely fresh and rejuvenated.
