*sorry for the lack of lipstick photos, I accidentally deleted them off my hard drive. :'(

Let's Sum it up:
Before I even tried these babies on, I had high expectations which was inevitable because almost every YouTube Guru and Beauty Blogger has been raving about these lip products non-stop. So what makes these stand out from other lipsticks? For starters they apply very smoothly with an opaque color. If you are like me and no matter how often you scrub your lips and apply lip balm, your lipstick still makes your lips feel rough. With these lip butters, they glide on effortlessly and even helps to make your lips feel smoother

Personally I picked out these particular colors because of my lips, they already have a good amount of pigmentation and lighter more neutral colors does end up looking very sheer on my lips so I am more than thrilled that all of these showed up opaque on my lips.

Tutti Frutti is a gorgeous coral orange, it's the sheerest of the bunch on my lips. This is the only one that I have to layer on 2 or 3 times to get a good pigmentation. This is also the least wearing out of the 4, it lasted about 2 hours on me.

Lollipop is my favorite out of all of these. It's a pretty fuchsia pink that has glitter specks, the particles don't show up that noticeably on the lips. The pigmentation is really opaque and lasts more than 3 hours on me. This one does leave my lips stained after 3 hours.

Raspberry Pie is a darker rosey-pink, it's opaque in just one swipe. This one also lasted more than 3 hours on me and left a stain on my lips.

Red Velvet is a dark warm red. My mom's favorite and it looked stunning on her with her Eid dress. This one lasted about 2 hours and didn't leave any noticeable stain on the lips.
All of these have a smooth, glossy finish which is a plus since you don't need to layer a lip gloss for added shine.

Likes:
- Smoothes out dry/rough lips
- Hydrating
- Pigmented
- Wide variety of shades
- Glossy Finish
- Packaging

Dislikes:
- Tutti Frutti has less pigmentation

Just another Nail Polish Purge!

Friday, August 24, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 9 Comments

Hey everyone!

This post is going to be a tough one. I've shown you guys my entire nail polish collection back in December (find it here) and now it's time.....to throw away some loved polishes that have lived past their expiration date. I owned a bunch of polishes that made up my collection, which most of the polishes I owned for over 2 years now so it's more then time to throw away dried up polishes. Total its about 20 polishes that I will be trashing.

These polishes have all been dried out, they aren't even in the state of resuscitation since they are THAT dried out. I can't use them for any nail art either since the consistency is so dry and I don't even want to mix it with nail polish remover because I've done that a few times with a couple of polishes and it still doesn't give a decent  consistency.

So these are the polishes that I am saying farewell to. Avon's Mirror Shine polishes I've had for a long time now, amazing polishes! These applied like liquid metal.
I think this calls for an updated nail polish collection!

What beauty products have you purged out lately?

Eye Product,

[REVIEW] Maybelline 24hour Color Tattoo in Bold Gold

Thursday, August 23, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 19 Comments

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating Eid these past few days! So let's get back into blogging with the most exciting product from my recent haul. The Maybelline Eyestudio Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in Bold Gold, that's a mouthful, is described as a cream gel shadow. Let's see how it looks!

Description on the site:
Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow.
Our ink technology creates super-saturated color.
Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade.

Packaging:
The Product comes in a simple glass jar with a black lid, which will help the cream product from not drying out. I make sure to store cream or gel based products upside down so that the moisture doesn't sink at the bottom.
Bold Gold is a gorgeous bronze-gold shimmery shade. It goes on very creamy when applied with your finger, it is a bit tacky when first applied but once it dries it doesn't crease or budge! It's difficult to get a even application when using a stiff shader brush or even a blending brush.
Maybelline 24hour Color Tattoo in Bold Gold Swatch
Here is a simple look I created using Bold Gold and Color Studio's Eye Ink in Earthen Roots (Matte Brown). I did use a base for the color to appear more vibrant.

Let's Sum it up!
The hype about this product is WELL worth it. It's an amazing product for those who love wearing eyeshadow but don't have the time to apply primer and eyeshadow. It's the first range of drugstore crease-less eyeshadows in the market.
The application is rich and creamy, it doesn't take any effort to get a good pigmentation and to blend it out. For Bold Gold I layered it twice just to get an opaque coverage.
I use my finger to apply the product because with a brush, I could not get an even layer of product. It was more patchy, if you prefer to use this as a base for your powder eyeshadow you can get away with using a brush.
Now for longevity, I used this product without a base for around 8 hours and there was no creasing at all. It stayed the same way as if it was recently applied. Without using the base, the color was not as vibrant on my lids since my lids are quick dark. However using the base did not give me a different result, it lasted throughout the day which was really amazing. I love using this as an eyeshadow base, it goes with plenty of warm toned eyeshadows such as copper, bronze and neutral shades and it makes colors become instantly vibrant with the shimmery effect.

Likes:
- Easy to apply
- Can be worn alone
- Creamy Texture
- Crease-less
- Long wearing
- Pigmented
- Dries instantly

Dislikes:
- None

Rating: 5/5

Abbamart,

[REVIEW] Affordable Makeup Brushes from Abbamart

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 13 Comments

A good quality makeup brush can make applying your makeup so much easier. For today I am going to be reviewing a few synthetic brushes from Abbamart, which is a beauty supplier store. They do carry a range of animal hair brushes but they have a great alternative which are synthetic brushes so I tried out a few from their Toray Fiber range.

About Abbamart
Exploring and culturing your personal beauty is therapeutic, fulfilling, and just plain fun! Abbamart is excited to offer professional-grade cosmetic tools at a price that won't limit your possibilities.

Because Abbamart is owned by its supplier, you get true factory-direct pricing, just like the high-end brand names that buy and resell brushes under their own labe

About Toray Fiber Brushes

Toray Fiber is 100% synthetic nylon hair, extremely soft and plush, great for sensitive skin. The beauty of synthetic hair is that we can make each strand universally smooth and even, unlike animal hair which has a completely different cellular structure with more ‘pockets’ and variation in each individual hair. That nature gives great distribution and blending ability to the brush, but truly there is nothing quite like that cool, silky feel of a Toray tuft.

Flat Luxury Toray Kabuki Brush

* Large, flat top kabuki brush made from silky, luxurious Toray fiber
* Unique, broad shape and full hair lets you apply mineral makeup products with a single soft stroke
* Provides beautifully even, full coverage when used with foundation
* Sweep color or shimmer down your neck or across your collar bone
* Try this brush for lightly applying bronzer to the entire face or body for a glowing, tanning effect

Toray Chubby Contour Brush

* Thick, small angled powder brush made with dense Toray fiber
* Angled cut sweeps on and blends face color in one stroke
* Small tuft and short handle allows you to contour and highlight with precision and control
* Luxurious Toray hair is soft and plush against the skin

Retractable Toray Auto Brush Large
* Large-sized black auto brush made from silky Toray fiber
* High-class styling and design
* Domed shape with long, full hair makes this an ideal brush for use with mineral and powdered foundation, bronzer and shimmer
* Cap keeps the bristles clean and preserves their shape in between uses

Let's Sum it up!
I'm really impressed by these brushes. At first I was really skeptical on how these would perform but they haven't shed or lost their shape even after washing them. They blend out products seamlessly and pick up pressed powder easily. The Contour Brush has been my go to blush brush, the size is small so it's easy to carry around in my travel makeup kit and it's very dense so it picks up a good amount of product. The Flat Top Kabuki Brush is great for liquid and powder applications, its very dense and buffs products into the skin very easily. The Retractable Brush is great for traveling, you can even use this as a blush brush since it isn't so wide.
Since all of these Toray Fiber they all have the same texture to the bristles, they don't feel plastic-y at all and they are super soft and doesn't eat up a lot of product. These don't have any distinct bad smell to them, actually they don't smell of any odor whatsoever. The brushes are definitely affordable, the Prices of their brushes start from $2+ which is another plus point for me!

They do ship internationally, in Pakistan shipping is lowest shipping cost is $4.95 depending on your order amount.

Overall you can't beat the quality and price of these brushes. I definitely recommend trying them out.

You can find them on Facebook as well as their website.

Hair Products,

[REVIEW] Wen by Chaz Dean -- Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

Monday, August 06, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 1 Comments

As a part of the WEN Beauty Bloggers meetup a few weeks ago, us bloggers got some WEN haircare goodies to try out. The product that I received was the Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. I've been using this product ever since I got it and I have to say I am hooked!
What is it:
A revolutionary step toward beautiful, healthy, shiny hair. WEN cleansing conditioner replaces shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner, and even shaving cream.

Who is it for:
Formulated for all hair types, especially those with fine-to-medium hair.

Why is it different:
WEN cleansing conditioner is detergent free, yet gently cleanses and moisturizes. Sweet almond mint is a universal cleansing agent that doesn't weigh hair down.

How do I use it:
Cleansing Conditioner should be applied in four sections: crown, nape, ends on the right, and ends on the left. For hair above your ears, use a minimum of eight pumps (two pumps per section). For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 12 pumps (three pumps per section). For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 16 pumps (four pumps per section). For hair past your shoulders, use a minimum of 20 pumps (five pumps per section). For hair to your mid-back, use a minimum of 24 pumps (six pumps per section). For thicker/coarser hair, increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hydrate ends. Please see FAQ tab for more specific information and approximate pumps per bottle.

Ingredients:
Water, Aloe Vera Gel, Glycerin, Chamomile Extract, Cherry Bark Extract, Calendula Extract, Rosemary Extract, Behentrimonium Chloride, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Emulsifying Wax, Panthenol, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Hydrolyzed Whole Wheat Protein, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Menthol, Essential Oils, Citric Acid, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Fragrance.

Ingredient Attributes: sulfate free, paraben free

What I think:
When I first got this I wasn't sure what to think! My first thought was 'where is the shampoo?', but after seeing the demo video at the bloggers meetup I understood what the product is about! It is a revolutionary product since I know people will use it the wrong way. I find that this is the perfect way to cleanse my hair without stripping my hair of natural oils.

I use it by first wetting my hair and taking one entire pump and massaging it into my scalp. Then I take another full pump and massage it on the back of my head and then another pump for the ends. I use about 4 pumps since its a good amount, I can't imagine using more than that since its a heavy cream consistency. Once I have it all massaged in, I spritz a bit of water and create a lather, the lather isn't the same as a regular shampoo. I leave it on for the remainder of the shower and then I wash it off. Thats it!

Once you have towel dried your hair I recommend applying the smallest amount on your ends.
My hair feels amazingly soft and manageable, not dried out or frizzy at all. I wouldn't use a lot of the product since my hair is prone to getting oily easily. My biggest issue is frizzy hair and this really does a good job in taking care of the problem.

This is one of those products that I will be sure to repurchase!

Brushes,

[REVIEW] Japonesque Touch Up Tube

Wednesday, August 01, 2012 Sidrah!!!! 8 Comments

I always carry around my makeup, but brushes? I never have space for them. Today I will be reviewing the Japonesque Touch Up Tube, a brilliant concept that more brands should come up with. It holds 5 brushes in a sleek metallic tube, perfect for beauties on the go!
Five Essential Brushes In a Sleek Compact Case

Encased in a bright, sleek tube designed for portability and protection, the JAPONESQUE® Professional Touch Up Tube Set contains five brushes essential for keeping makeup flawless throughout the day or night. This unique set includes a foundation brush, a lip brush, two eye detailers and a blush/powder brush. All brushes feature a short matte wand for superior control. A great multi-tasking set ideal for the purse, desk drawer or as a gift.
The Touch up Tube comes with 5 brushes
-Small Smudger brush
-Eye shadow Brush
-Concealer Brush
-Lip Brush
-Powder/Blush Brush
Small Smudger brush
Eye shadow Brush
Concealer Brush, Lip Brush
Powder/Blush Brush
To Sum it up:
I really like the concept behind creating an all around brush set for traveling. I did keep in mind that the quality of the brushes wouldn't be the same standard as a full size brush set. The smaller brushes are really nice to use. The Small Smudger Brush is great so applying eyeshadow to the lower lash line, I would have liked to see an eyeliner brush in this kit since I do prefer wearing gel liner so it would be great if I could carry that around. The Eye Shadow Brush is good for packing on color and also blending eye shadow out, I really like this for the crease since I use the Concealer brush as an eye shadow brush. The Concealer Brush is a bit thin to apply cream products and blend it out, this would be great to use for blemishes but I didn't find a use for it. The Lip Brush is perfect, it's my favorite out of the 5 since its the perfect size for my lips, most of the lip brushes I own are very tiny and this one is tapered so I find that it works really well for applying a dark lip color. The Powder Brush  was the most disappointing since it sheds and its very rough. Since it's for touching up, I don't mind using it specifically for touching up but I would not prefer to use this brush on a daily basis. Overall its a good concept, I like carrying this around since it's so chic looking.

Price: $20
