[EYES] Smoked Teal with a hint of Pink!

Friday, September 30, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 17 Comments

Hey Everyone!
Last night I had a family function to attend and when I was finished doing my makeup I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with you all. Hence the flash photography. My dress was all Black with a hint of Pink embroidery, so I wanted to play up with a smokey eye! I used a teal color all over the lid and added some silver to blend it out to the black, then blended the  black in the crease. I blended the shadows out with a very light touch of pink. The pink is hardly noticeable in person but in the photo it turned out really nice :)

The Products I used:

  • Mabrook Palette (shades mention below)
  • Revlon Colorstay Liner in Black
  • Etude Liquid Liner in Black
  • Maybeline Great Lash Mascara in Black

Feel free to leave any comments and suggestions! Let me know what you think of the flash photography, sometimes flash makes everything just soo shimmery!

[EYES] Brown Now Using ELF Butternut Quad

Monday, September 26, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 14 Comments

Hey Everyone!

I've been trying out the products I received from E.L.F. that I showed in my Shop and Tell post, check it out here. I really like the Butternut Quad, the 2 lighter shades are VERY difficult to work with since they are not pigmented, but the bronze and the matte brown are very nice and super blendable!

So for this look I used everything from ELF except for the inner corner highlight I used a matte vanilla shadow.  So let me know what you think of this look!

Products used:

ELF Essential Brightening Eye Color in Butternut
Bronze Brown all over lid
Brown Matte in crease
Vanilla Matte Shade in Inner Corner and Browbone
ELF Waterproof Eyeliner in Black
ELF Essential Lengthening & Defining Mascara in Brown

Very simple everyday look, so let me know what you think!

Ever since I could remember my mom has been using Avon products, so naturally I've been using Avon since I first started using makeup. One product that is essential in everyone's makeup drawer is an eyeliner. The eyeliner was the first product I started using so ever since then I've been hooked on these Avon eyeliners. So for today's post I'll be reviewing Avon's Glimmersticks in Saturn Grey, Blackest Black and the waterproof Sea Green

[NAILS] Hot Pink and Black Nail stamping

Monday, September 19, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 9 Comments

This combination I used the ELF Matte Finisher on top of the pink from N.Y.C which looks amazing! This manicure might not last very long because with nail stamping you have to put on a top coat otherwise the design will start to chip, which in this design I only used the matte finisher for the pink and not the black polish from Wet n' Wild.

I used the m.49 stamping plate form Born Pretty Store. If you want to read my review on the Nail Stamping Kit that I received you can check it out here.

If you like this nail design please feel free to leave any comments below!

On my nails today is Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength Polish in African Violet, I've owned this polish for some time so I decided to paint my nails this deep dark color which is reddish plum shade. Unfortunately the camera didn't pick up much of the violet tone in this polish in some of the photos.

      Hope you guys enjoy!

      L’Oreal,

[REVIEW] First Impressions of the L’Oreal Revitalift Stimulift

      Thursday, September 08, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 5 Comments

      Hello my lovely readers!
I mentioned in an earlier post about the new product launched by L’Oreal Paris. So today I am going to be trying this product out for the first time and give you my first impression of the product from the packing to its use.

      What it claims:
The New Revitalift Stimulift from L'Oréal has created Stimulift technology to stimulate the production of the skin's 8 natural lifters to plump your skin from within for a natural lifting and firming effect. The anti-wrinkle + firming Eye Cream has been developed to hydrate and tone the eye contour area and visibly reduces wrinkles and crow's feet.

      Scent
I can not pinpoint the scent of the cream. It is mild, not strong at all. It smells really similar to a typical lotion/cream. Nothing floral or perfumed at all which is great because I do not like scented creams for my face, it just becomes irritating.
      Rating: 4/5

      Texture
I really like the feel of this cream, I applied just a small amount and it goes a long way and is absorbed really easily to the skin. The consistency is thick so it’s best to use a little.
      Rating: 4/5
      Packaging
The size of the jar is 50ml. It is a typical jar but I like that it has a top so that the product doesn’t make the jar messy. I do dislike jar’s, Its not the  easiest way to access the product, it should have came in a tube or pump.
      Rating: 3/5

      Overall first impression rating:
      4/5

      How to use:
For me personally I don’t prefer applying creams in the morning only sunscreen. I feel I will just sweat it off, so the best time to use this product is when you reach home and cleanse your face.

        • So with a cleansed face, take a pea size amount and dot it all over the areas to ensure even distribution of the product.
        • The cream is absorbed pretty nicely, its best to use the smallest amount so that it skins into your skin. The texture of the cream is really thick.
        • I applied it gently starting from the inner corner of the eye moving towards the outer corner, pat lightly with your fingertips until the cream is absorbed. Just make sure you do NOT apply this really close to your eyeball. It doesn’t tingle or sting but it is irritating.

Overall I think I will not benefit from this product as much as someone who has mature skin. I do have slightest lines on my eye area so I will just use it at night.

Priced at PKR 1,250. This is available worldwide. For more information about the L’Oréal Paris in Pakistan you can visit their official facebook fanpage in Pakistan: www.facebook.com/LOrealPakistan

I hope this first impression was helpful for you guys. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions!

        Jewelry Show and Tell

        Tuesday, September 06, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 15 Comments

        Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone’s Eid went amazing! I know I had a lot of fun, wearing pretty new cloths and of course accessories! I wanted to share with you all some jewelry that I purchased for Eid along with some of my favs in my collection.

        Earrings!
I am really into big chunky earrings, they either have to be big or long and skinny. Big hoop earrings just aren’t appealing to me. So here are some pieces

This pair I purchased at the KDA market for 120 Rs. Its so urban, this has to be my fav. I wore this during the afternoon because I normally like wearing some sparkly at night which I will further show.

Jessica Lowndes from 90210 Top BEAUTY Tips!

        Thursday, September 01, 2011 Sidrah!!!! 4 Comments

90210 is one of my all time favorite tv series. Since season 1 I've always liked Jessica Lowndes's character "Adrianna" , throughout the seasons she has truly grown into her character.

Jessica Lowndes has a campaign out for Norwegian glacial mineral water brand Isklar and she has a few beauty tips that she has shared with the campaign. The campaign called “Do Different” encourages people to try something a bit different from changing their look, to taking up new hobbies or re-vamping their wardrobes.
Leading makeup artists such as Emma Miles, Francesca Neill and Malin Coleman (who have worked with the likes of Kate Middleton, Sienna Miller, Kelly Brook, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow to name a few) taught Jessica how to re-create this season’s looks – a change from her usual career in front of the camera to a behind the scenes role as a makeup artist. Jessica also shared with us her top beauty tips!
