Tour around LUSH at The Dubai Mall!

Late last year I visited Dubai for the first time with my bestie Nida from Highlife Shenanigans. With all the places I visited in Dubai, the Lush Tour at the Dubai Mall was absolutely amazing. The shop offers the tour to anyone interested in checking out the entire store. Being completely new to Lush Cosmetics it was a great opportunity to learn about the brand and test a few products along the way. Now I'm not so much into organic skincare to be honest especially since the products tend to expire faster and are most costly than any other brand. 

 The tour gives you an entire look at Lush from start to finish. Here's a look at some products in their range!

This past week a few of us bloggers were invited for a special Atiqa Odho Cosmetics meet up for International Women's day at Mona J Spa and Salon. [SWATCH] Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick



Liquid lipsticks have been all the rage in the recent years, with every brand releasing their own type. Whenever I fall in love with a lip product, I end up getting a wide range of colors from the range (i.e. my obsession with Wet N’ Wild Megalast lipsticks). When I first tried out BauHau5 from the Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range, I fell in love! I end up purchasing a few more and then received a couple of minis free with my order from KatVonDBeauty.com.

…and let me tell you that these are so my favorite! I've been on a gotta catch em' all kinda obsession lately.
 
Packaging
Each Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick comes in a slim, black box. The body of the box has a rose design while the word “EVERLASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK” is printed in silver foil letters and stamped on the box. The name and colour of the lipstick shade are printed on a sticker-like material and pasted at the end of the box.

 
Formula:
The formula for all of these are consistent throughout, usually some darker colors tend to look patchy but all of these have a beautiful consistency. The texture is liquidy and not at all moussey, and they dry very matte but without any cracks on the lips. They feel so lightweight on the lips and they will fade after eating anything oily, otherwise these stay put for hours! I love wearing Double Dare to the office and it stays on comfortably past lunch. The only one that I have to layer on is BauHau5, even in the swatch you can see some patchiness but it's not at all prominent on the lips.

Overall these are some of my go-to liquid lipsticks when I don't want to fuss with a bold lip color. I ended up getting the mini's as a gift with purchase when I ordered from the website directly. The full size are $20 each but the minis will last you a while!

Sunsilk Wedding Diaries!

We all know how important the wedding season is to us, whether it's a family member or a close friend. So when it comes to hair, who honestly has a hard time figuring our a hairstyle?

I've been a fan of Sunilk's range of shampoos and there's no doubt the wedding season is going to be a game-changer for our hair styles. Taking Point PR sent over a few goodies, I already know that Sunsilk shampoos are great especially during the drier weather seasons. Let's Talk About it:
As most of us who are well aware of how important collagen is in the appearance of our skin, once we reach our mid or late twenties loss of collagen increases drastically. This cream works by causing your body to produce more collagen to the applied area. The cream is extremely luxurious with the consistency and texture after it’s been absorbed into the skin. The scent of the cream is very soft and floral, especially using it before bed was not overpowering.  I have been using this consistently for over 2 months specifically on my neck and face. I normally use Rose Hip Oil as a night time moisturizer which has worked well for pigmentation, but using this my skin has become softer but I wish it would have lighten acne markets and darkness around my under eyes. Best part is that it completely absorbs into the skin when you wake up, not leaving any greasy residue whatsoever. It works well on the hands too! My skin feels moisturized and plumper every morning.

It's all about chokers these days, and once a trend hits it's all over the market. I've been trying to find a few unique pieces since I love this trend and finding a white choker in Karachi is nearly impossible! So I ordered a few from AliExpress during their Black Friday sale and I wanted to share them with you all. 

Since I bought these during the sale my total for everything was about $7! If you're looking to buy directly from the site, I suggest getting a UBL internet Wiz card since it works smoothly on the site. 


These chokers are all made out of really soft material. Exactly the same as you would find them in the market! 

The Black set was exactly what I was looking for. The style is so retro and goth, love it! 

I bought everything from this store, they usually change prices from time to time. Also it took about a month and a half for my order to arrive!

Breast Cancer is Treatable, but Early Detection is Key [Chughtai Lab Karachi]





Chughtai Lab’s consultant pathologist says that young women should create an early breast cancer detection plan because that’s the key to treatment and ultimately, to saving lives.


In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chughtai Lab has embarked on a month-long nation-wide campaign, termed #ThinkPink with Chughtai Lab, to bring awareness and education to the nation’s women and men. After a series of events in Lahore and Islamabad, Chughtai Lab held an event at its flagship lab at Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Karachi to spread awareness of this disease and the benefits of early detection. “If you’re above 20 years, you need to examine yourself monthly”, according to Dr. Sehba Arij, Consultant Pathologist at Chughtai Lab. She elaborated on the myths surrounding breast cancer as well as the symptoms and signs to watch out for.




Muniba Mazari, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Chughtai Lab, also spoke at the event and implored young women to take their health seriously and opt for self-examination on a regular basis. She opined “Breast cancer is a topic that is hardly talked about by either men or women. It is because of this societal taboo that many women keep on suffering for a long period of time until the cancer reaches a stage where it becomes harder to treat than it would initially have been.” She implored young women not only to learn to self-examine, but teach other women to do so as well.

Speaking about the #ThinkPink campaign, she commented, "It isn't just about combatting the disease but also breaking the taboo of talking about diseases and ailments of all kinds. The more we talk about these things, the easier they will be to treat."

Dr. Omar Chughtai, Lab Director of Chughtai Lab said that with the opening of a lab facility in Karachi, he hopes they can bring quality and convenient testing services to the metropolis. Some of the conveniences he mentioned included Chughtai Lab’s free home sample collection service, online and emailed lab reports, SMS alerts and the custom Chughtai Lab mobile app. “Come visit or call us, we are always looking for ways to serve you better”, he said.

I'm all about using a body scrub on a daily basis! Especially with the dirt and sweat build up, a scrub gets my skin so squeeky clean. If you LOVE fruity/berry scents, this stuff is amazing. It's nothing like I've ever used scent wise, it really leaves a beautiful aroma after you're done showering. The salt is abrasive enough to cleanse off dead skin. It made my skin feel really smooth.

I've never used a sea salt shampoo before but this is something I will look into for deep cleansing my hair. Since my hair tends to be on the oily side, the sea salt helps to cleanse the roots and from any leftover hair-styling product.

I love homemade lip scrubs! This chocolate scrub is definitely something I'll use everyday. The sugar grains seem to be mix with cocoa to give that chocolate flavor. It did a wonderful job of exfoliating my lips and leaving them very smooth and soft. Definitely recommend this!

The meetha sarson is ideal for using on frizzy hair, I prefer using hair oils at just the ends of my hair to tame any frizz. This is ideal for thoes looking for luscious and healthy hair, you can never go wrong with organic oil!

Pure Desi Coconut Cream
The coconut cream is definitly my favorite! It smells very similar to Vaseline's Cocoa Butter Petromleum but it absorbs into the skin easily. It has a very thin texture but it does hydrate the skin, I love using this on my cuticles during the day.

I've been wanting to use Rosehip oil for ages! This is such an effective oil for skincare and anti-aging.
