[TUTORIAL] Almost a Rainbow Eyes using Nature's Brilliance by Sue

Hello Everyone,

So since I received a few eye shadow samples from Nature's Brilliance by Sue I wanted to play around with the colors. For my review on the eyeshadows you can see them here.

Here is the look I came up with! Its a fun multicolor look, if you want a toned down look you can simply use the blue and purple as a liner on the lower lashline.

Lets start off with a base, I wanted the shimmer to be a bit vibrant so I am using a creamy eyeshadow pencil from Davis Eye in No 20.

Apply a vibrant orange on the center of the lid, leaving the inner corner bare. I used Sunset Peach making sure to pack on the color with a flat shader brush.

Using the same brush, wipe off the excess and pick up a shimmery pink toned red. I used Primrose Princess applying it on the outer corner and blending it up into the crease.

Taking a deeper red on a pencil brush, apply this over Primrose Princess to define the crease. I used an Etude Shadow.

Taking a blending brush and gently blend the shadows, this part was tricky since you don't want to blend the red too much.

Taking a white eyeliner, I used Etude's Creamy Eyeliner in White. You want to blend the liner with a bit of the orange shadow making it into a light peach color.
Taking a matte cream color shadow on an angled brush, apply this on the highest point of your eyebrow. I used Catrice's Absolute Eye Color in 070 Double Espresso Macchaito, Please!

This is what you should have so far!

Now lets work on the lower lashline, taking a shimmery purple eyeliner apply this as a base for the purple shadow. I used a matte shadow in Orchid Brilliance with Stila's Smudge Pot in Violet since it has a bright blue undertone with visible shimmer.

Using a bright sky blue shadow, I used Robins Egg by applying it on a wet angled liner brush. I should have applied the purple wet to get a very saturated finish since you want to pack on the color.
Apply your favorite liquid liner, pencil liner and mascara in black. I used Look by Bipa Liquid Eyeliner, Revlon Colorstay and Elf's Waterproof mascara.
You want to apply the liquid liner with a bit of a wing where the red shadow is so there is a nice contrast with the bright blue on the lashline.
So here is the finished look! Let me know what you think. I think this look would be a bit better if I had some false lashes!

As always, feel free to leave any comments or suggestions!

  • Mineral Eye Color in Robins Egg, Sunset Peach, Primrose, Green Apples, Orchid Brilliance-Matte
  • Mineral Blush in Peach Sunset

Pomegranate Cream Lip Gloss
Pomegranate Cream Lip Gloss Swatch

The Pomegranate Cream Lip Gloss in Orchids in Bloom is a true violet shade which shows up as a light purple tint on my lips. The texture of the product is really smooth, almost like a lip balm. The scent is a bit fruity, I am guessing its pomegranate. The ingredients lists pomegranate butter as an ingredient along with shea butter which makes the product creamy to apply and not sticky. I do like applying this with a peachy color lipstick, it changes the color into a deep rose color.

INGREDIENTS: Pomegranate Butter (Pomegranate Fruit, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil), Castor Seed Oil, Beeswax, Carnauba Wax, Glycerin (Veg.), Lecithin (Veg.), Jojoba Protein HP, Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Natural Vitamin E and Vitamin C, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Mica and Iron Oxide.

Likes:
- Not sticky
- Hydrates lips
Pleasant fruity scent
- Doesn't bleed

Dislikes:
- More of a lip balm than a gloss
- Comes in a pot, applying can make the product unhygienic

Rating: 4/5

Mineral Eye Color in Robins Egg
Mineral Eye Color in Robins Egg
Mineral Eye Color in Sunset Peach, Primrose, Green Apples, Orchid Brilliance-Matte
Mineral Eye Color Swatches
The swatches are done without any primer, I love the neon green!

Sunset Peach is a vibrant orange.
Primrose is a pink tone red.
Green Apples is a vibrant neon green.
Orchid Brilliance-Matte is a bit darker than lilac.
Robins Egg is a true sky blue color.

The quality of all the shadows is really quite exceptional. Each of the eyeshadows are really buttery and smooth, including the matte shadow. The pigmentation is just as amazing, usually I find that mineral eyeshadows give its true pigmentation by applying them wet but you really don’t need to do that, the smallest amount of the eyeshadow gives a great amount of color.

Price: On sale now for $5.00

Mineral Blush in Peach Sunset
Mineral Blush in Peach Sunset
Mineral Blush in Peach Sunset Swatch

Peach Sunset is a true peachy biege blush with loads of shimmer. It has the same texture and pigmentation as the eyeshadows. It applies really smoothly, though if you want the peach shade to be more visible than the product must be layered at least twice. Blended out only the shimmer shows up which works as a great highlight with a deep matte peach shade.

Likes:
- Texture is really soft
- Applies well without a primer
- Blends easily
- Vibrant pigmentation
- Little goes a long way
- Suitable for sensitive skin

Dislikes:
- More shimmer shades available than matte
- Only available online

Price: On Sale now for $7.00

To Sum it Up:
The mineral eyeshadows and blush have the same texture and pigmentation. I really enjoy wearing the eyeshadows, usually with mineral shadows I have to use them wet to get a rich pigmentation but with these I didn't need to. They apply very well and blend really effortlessly. The shimmer in the blush is very pretty, they are very fine so they appear very natural on the skin giving a nice glow.

Rating: 5/5

Nail Polish Collection/Storage

Hey everyone,

I always like reading posts about makeup storage and collection, since my makeup collection is slowly growing I wanted to share with you all my nail polish collection. These are all the polishes I own, I gave away about a dozen polishes to my cousins since I wanted everything to fit in this traincase, another reason for that is because I feel that if I don't use a polish they won't be as appreciated so I like to limit the amount I have.

I keep all of my polishes in this traincase, its easily available in the market. This particular one is really heavy, add on the dozens of nail polish bottles and its a hefty little thing.
I like how the size fits my tiny nail polish bottles perfectly. Its really convenient to store everything in this traincase, I use to keep my manicure set in here but there is no room at all!
I don't know what I will do if I end up buying more polishes, I might have to end up throwing some polishes away that have dried out.
The first layer I have most of my smaller polishes which consists of some Christine, Essence Colour & Go in Fabuless(black) and What Do You Think? (orange) and a set of Lord & Taylor polishes that were in a gift set.

The second layer has some Catrice, Essence, Ultra3
In order:

  • Essence NATvenTURista in 03 Barefoot through the moss
  • Essence Multi Dimension XXXL Shine in 73 Replay
  • Essence Multi Dimension XXXL Shine in 74 Fall for Me
  • Catrice 560 Rusty but Sexy
  • Catrice 570 Beavis and Mud-head
  • Catrice 530 Up in the Air
I have some polishes hidden inside which are:

  • Essence Matt Top Coat
  • Ultra3 in Pink Supreme
  • Ultra3 in Footloose Fuchsia
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dry in Pink Blink

The last compartment I just throw everything in because some I can't store them standing  up because then the case won't close.

I own a couple of Avon's Mirror Shine Polishes which some have dried out.
  • Avon Nailwear in Dusky Cherry
  • Wet n Wild in Cool Blue Blast
  • Wet n Wild in Black Creme
  • NYC in No. 237

  • Metiier in True Romance
  • Sonia Kashuk in No. 17 Starry Night
  • Funky Fingers in Golden Coast
  • Funky Fingers in Baby Baby Baby
  • Adoree Exotic in Fuchsia
  • Adoree Exotic in Fashion Pink
  • Hello Kitty in Banana Creme

  • piCture pOlish in Heavy Metal
  • piCture pOlish in Aphrodisiac
  • piCture pOlish in Metallic Mush
  • Pure Ice Frosted in Ice Maroon
  • Medora in No 272
  • ELF in Plum
  • Sweet Touch in Blackberry

  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Honeymoon Red
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in African Violet
  • Sally Hansen Maximum Growth in Sacred Scarlet
  • Sally Hansen in Heartbeat Frost
  • Sally Hansen Fire Opal in Blush Opal
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Rose Petals
  • Loreal Paris in Ragin' Cajun
I really hope you enjoyed my collection, I didn't show any of my top coats because they have dried out!
I really love how everything is neatly organized in this case and I hope it gave you all an idea on storage for your own collection.

[TUTORIAL] Silver Smokey Eye-- Makeup For Glasses!

Hello Everyone!

For the longest time I have been wanting to do a tutorial, so for today that is exactly what I will be showing you all. Since I wear glasses its sometimes difficult to wear eye makeup and have it be VISIBLE! The makeup I am going to be doing is one of my signature eye looks, I love wearing this look because it really opens up my eyes. Its a very silvery smokey eye with a lot of matte black in the crease so if you don't wear glasses I would suggest to skip the heavy liner, unless you like that look.

First as always you want to prime your eyelid, if you don't have a primer dab a bit of your foundation on your lid and apply pressed powder over it. I used Essence You Rock eyeshadow base.
Apply a white eyeliner in the inner corner and blend it.

Take a shimmery white shadow and apply it on top of the white eyeliner and the browbone.

Taking a black eyeliner, apply it in the outer corner of the eye. Creating a cat eye, you can be messy with this since we are going to smudge it out.

Taking a pencil brush, smudge out the eyeliner.

Take a silver eyeliner and apply this all over the lid and lower lash line, this will really make the eyeshadow be vibrant. I used a Silver eyeshadow stick from Davis

Taking a matte grey eyeshadow on a flat shader brush, you can also use a shimmery grey but since my base was shimmery I opted for using a matte grey. I used a matte grey from an Avon Palette

Take a blending brush and apply a matte black eyeshadow on the outer corner creating a V shape. Take an angled liner brush and apply the same matte black on the outer corner as well as in the lash line. If the black isn't dark enough you can apply more eyeliner in the crease. I used Rimmel's Jet Black eyeshadow

Taking the eyeliner and line your waterline and tightline.

Curl your lashes and apply mascara and your favorite liquid eyeliner. I used Elf's essential mascara and waterproof eyeliner. Make sure to clean off any fallout and apply concealer.

Put your glasses on and you are done!

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and found it helpful! Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions. If you want to see more tutorials let me know!

[REVIEW] Adesign Skin Care Brush Set

Brushes are essential in creating a flawless makeup look, but have you tried using brushes to apply skincare products?

Adesign introduces an easy 5-brush beauty technique as a part of a clean and healthy daily skin care regiment a simple procedure adopted by dermatologists and spa technicians. The brushes come in a plastic material case that has a snake skin print and it is lined with plastic which is great for traveling and keeping your brushes away from dust.

Each brush in the Skin Care Set are made with synthetic bristles. They are dense to pack on product, the brushes don't absorb the product so you get an even coverage. The bristles of each brush is extremely soft and high quality. These brushes can be used in multiple ways. They work flawlessly with cream products as well as buffing in powder/mineral makeup.
The set includes:
  1. Flat Top Foundation
  2. Pointed Concealer
  3. Pointed Foundation Kabuki
  4. Foundation
  5. Concealer
Flat Top Foundation: I like using this brush for mineral makeup as well as foundation. It is a bit small but this works great with blushes that are sheer, it packs on color and blends out really well. For contouring and highlighting this brush is perfect. The bristles are really dense and soft.

Pointed Concealer: This brush works great for small blemishes. This reminds me of a pencil brush, since its tapered it blends out eyeliner for a smokey eye with ease. I like doing crease work with this brush, you can pack on a dark shade really well.

Foundation:
I find the best use of this brush with applying cream products and masks. It evenly distributes the product and I find that it lays down product really nicely. The synthetic bristles are dense and is really gentle to the skin. Cleaning this brush was really easy even after apply thick clay masks, it didn't stain the bristles.

Medium Concealer:
This works great for packing on eyeshadow or foiling mineral eyeshadow. It even works nicely for lip products, it is unhygienic to dip your finger in your your lip balms so I opt for using this brush.
Pointed Foundation Kabuki:
This is my favorite brush in the set. The dome shape of the brush works seamlessly for applying foundation or any cream product. Since its pointed it works really well for getting product under the eyes and blending out your concealer. I find that this brush really gets the job done for my concealer and with a full coverage foundation. Its super dense so it will not absorb any of the product. This brush can be used for your masks and facial cleansers to buff in product. The handle is made of metal and the bristles are packed in really tight.

To Sum it up:
These brushes are really high quality and versatile. So far I have washed them about 4 times and there has been no shedding in any of the brushes. I find that these dry really quick, the longest one that takes drying is the Pointed Kabuki which takes overnight to fully dry. These brushes haven't lost their shape even after washing, with most brushes I have to use a brush guard to make sure it keeps its shape. The bristles have kept their color and havent bled. I like how the case has a plastic lining, it's easier to clean compared to other makeup cases that I have which has powder stains all over and is difficult to clean.

Overall I recommend this brush set if you are looking to invest in high quality brushes. The set is pricey, however buying each brush individually costs about $26-$32.

If you are interested in ordering you can contact info@adesignbrushes.com if you want to order outside the U.S.

The Adesign Skin Care Brush Set is priced at $60, you can purchase them online here. For more information on Adesign you can find them on Twitter and Facebook.

[REVIEW] Lashem Double Trouble Mascara

What Lashem say:
Let your lashes do the taking with our infamous Double Trouble Mascara! Now you don’t have to choose—use the volume wand for a long and bold voluminous effect and use the length wand to expand your natural lashes. The lengthening fiber mascara helps extend to the tip of the lashes without clumping and doesn’t irritate your eyes. Extend those lashes for some double trouble fun!

BENEFITS:
  • Define and smooth lashes for an even application without clumps.
  • Flexible cotton fibers wrap around each lash like a tube to help thicken and curl lashes.
  • Build length for an instant lash extension effect.
  • Nourish and hydrate for longer, thicker, voluptuous lashes.
  • Volume fiber enhance lash growth for a bolder look.
  • Formula is easily removed, which is great to use on sensitive and fragile lashes.

Directions:
For best results, apply the volumizing black mascara first, and then finish with the lengthening fiber black mascara for those Double Trouble lashes.

The mascara comes in a silver metallic 2 in 1 double ended tube. The wands are very different from one another, the volumizing wand is really flexible while the lengthening wand is more stiff. Both of the formulas are really weightless but I find that the lengthening formula is a little bit more wet compared to the volumizing.

Lengthening:
I really like the wand as well as the formula for the lengthening part of the mascara, it is a bit more wet and builds up really easily. Best of all it does not clump and dries in a few minutes.

Volumizing:
I am not a fan of flexible wands, they are a bit flimsy and its hard to really get into the root of your lashes with such wands.  The volumizing formula is dry, initually it felt like I wasn't applying anything in my lashes. I don't notice a big difference in my lashes with the volumizing formula.
My lashes are really stubborn and stick straight down, they are hard to curl and with most formula's my curl ends up falling when I do apply mascara. So for this mascara I had to curl my lashes because without doing so you won't be able to tell how the formula worked for me.
Swatches:
After curling my lashes I applied 2 coats of Volumizing  followed by 3 coats of Lengthening.
To Sum it up:
I have never tried a 2 in 1 mascara before, with using this mascara I don't notice a huge difference between this and regular one step mascara's. Everyone loves having fuller lashes and I always expect a mascara to curl my lashes along with giving volume and length. When I did apply the mascara without curling them they didn't look different at all. I find that the lengthening formula works great but the volumizing formula doesn't give me much volume even after apply few layers. I do like how how my lashes feel even hours after wearing the mascara, they don't get sticky or bother my eyes.

Likes:
- No fragrance
- No clumping even after 3 or 4 coats
- Feel weightless after drying
- Doesn't irritate sensitive eyes
- Wearable for more than 5 hours without irritating eyes

Dislikes:
- Doesn't volumize
- Not waterproof

Rating: 3/5
